“What if your toys came to life, but evil?”
In this course the mission was to create a toy in blender, and then use it to practice modeling, texturing, poster layout and animation. The toy that i created is called Cleanbot, an robotic vacuum gone rouge. I wanted something with a simple shape but some technical details that you be used for the animation later.
The process started with a lot of sketching and then narrowing it down to the three alternatives below. I chose to proceed with the Cleanbot since it would fit better in the animation later and hade more interesting elements than the other alternatives. The storyboard that laid the foundation was just a framework for what shots i needed for the animation so that i didn’t spend unnecessary time rendering videos. Finally i finished the modeling and the texturing for the model and then created the animation.

Animation
This is the animation I made for Cleanbot in this course. It’s a mix of a trailer/teaser for the product. I wanted to convey a scary feeling to contrast the fact that we were modeling kids toys. To contrast the usual light and happy commercials i leaned more towards action or horror trailers.
